The All-New BMW X5 Sets a New Benchmark for Luxury SUVs

The next generation of the BMW X5 has arrived, bringing bold new design, groundbreaking technology, and the widest range of powertrain options ever offered in the model’s history. As the fifth generation of the luxury Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) that created the segment more than 25 years ago, the all-new BMW X5 continues its legacy of innovation while embracing the future of electrification and intelligent mobility.
With advanced technology derived from BMW’s groundbreaking Neue Klasse platform, the latest BMW X5 is engineered to deliver exceptional performance, luxurious comfort, and cutting-edge connectivity for every journey.
More Powertrain Choices Than Ever Before
For the first time, the BMW X5 will be available with five distinct powertrain options, allowing customers to choose the model that best fits their lifestyle.
The lineup includes efficient gasoline and diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology, advanced plug-in hybrid models, the first-ever fully electric BMW iX5, and, at a later date, BMW’s first hydrogen-powered production vehicle—the BMW iX5 Hydrogen.
The all-electric BMW iX5 debuts with BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, delivering an impressive driving range of up to 525 miles, ultra-fast 800-volt charging capability, bidirectional charging functionality, and a new high-performance battery featuring advanced cylindrical cells.
Looking even further ahead, the BMW iX5 Hydrogen showcases the brand’s commitment to alternative energy with an advanced fuel cell system capable of delivering up to 466 miles of range.
Bold New Design with an Unmistakable Presence
The redesigned BMW X5 introduces a cleaner, more confident appearance inspired by BMW’s Neue Klasse design philosophy.
A striking upright front fascia, illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille, and all-new “double-X” lighting signature give the X5 an unmistakable identity. Along the sides, innovative BMW Winglets replace traditional door handles, creating a sleek profile while providing effortless electronic door operation.
Customers can personalize their X5 with eleven exterior paint colors and wheel options ranging up to 23 inches. The performance-focused BMW X5 M60e xDrive and available M Sport packages further enhance the SUV’s athletic character, while optional M Performance Parts allow owners to add even more motorsport-inspired styling.
A Luxurious Interior Designed Around the Driver
Inside, the all-new BMW X5 combines premium craftsmanship with BMW’s most advanced digital experience yet.
The redesigned cabin features clean architecture, premium materials, and innovative trim options—including available slate décor, making BMW the first automaker to offer genuine slate interior surfaces.
Taking center stage is the new BMW Panoramic iDrive system powered by BMW Operating System X. The next-generation interface includes Panoramic Vision displayed across the windshield, a free-cut Central Display, available Passenger Display, 3D Head-Up Display, and a newly designed multifunction steering wheel, creating an immersive experience for both driver and passengers.
Customizable ambient lighting stretches seamlessly across the dashboard, enhancing the cabin’s welcoming atmosphere with elegant lighting animations.

Performance Meets Everyday Comfort
The BMW X5 continues to deliver the engaging driving dynamics that have made it one of the segment’s most respected luxury SUVs.
Standard adaptive suspension and near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution provide exceptional balance between comfort and athletic performance. Available Adaptive Chassis Control Professional with roll stabilization further enhances ride quality and handling, especially on all-electric and plug-in hybrid models.
BMW’s latest intelligent driver assistance systems work seamlessly alongside the driver, while new BMW Symbiotic Drive technology provides personalized support based on individual driving habits. Electric variants also introduce BMW Soft-Stop technology for smoother, more refined stopping performance than ever before.
Built in Spartanburg, Ready for the Future
Production of the fifth-generation BMW X5 will begin at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina, the longtime home of the X5 since its debut in 1999. The facility will also celebrate another milestone as the first manufacturing location for the all-electric BMW iX5, supported by a new sixth-generation high-voltage battery plant designed to operate without fossil fuels during normal production.
The Future of the Luxury SUV
The all-new BMW X5 represents the most advanced and versatile X5 ever created. With its bold styling, revolutionary digital technology, expanded electrified lineup, and unmistakable BMW driving character, the latest generation is poised to redefine expectations for luxury SUVs once again.
Expected to begin arriving in dealerships in late 2026, with all-electric and plug-in hybrid models following in early 2027, the new BMW X5 is ready to continue the success story of one of BMW’s most iconic vehicles.
