BMW Intermediate Oil Service

Your BMW model's Service Interval System will notify you when it is time for new oil, but you should aim to schedule maintenance about every 7,500 miles. This service includes a full oil change and oil filter replacement — the least costly and most frequently performed item on the BMW maintenance program. Proper oil maintenance increases your BMW's longevity.

BMW Inspection 1

On newer BMW models, this Minor Service inspection is recommended at 30,000, 90,000, and 150,000 miles. Technicians check engine temperature, the power steering system, rear axle, and transmission for leaks, clean brake pads, examine brake disc surfaces and pad thickness, and inspect tires, wheels, interior, and under the hood.

BMW Inspection 2

Known as Major Service, this second inspection is recommended at 60,000 and 120,000 miles for most BMW drivers. It includes everything in Inspection 1, plus inspection of the parking brake lining and body for rust, replacement of spark plugs and air filters, and examination of flexible boots for leaks.
